"They trained, fought and lived boxing's heyday with Muhammad Ali in Miami. Now, we tell their story." (Pictured l-r: boxer Gomeo Brennan, trainer/manager Chris Dundee, boxing legend Rocky Marciano. c.a.1960.)
The Film:
"The Fight Years" is a documentary feature that tells the story of Miami's boxing heyday, from the 1950s through the 1970s, when the Magic City was the center of the boxing universe, producing champions on the national and international stage. The young men who trained at the Fifth Street Gym under Angelo and Chris Dundee came of age with "The Greatest" boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali, but they also forged their own careers and legacy, though many of their stories have been lost to time. This is the story of these men, their triumphs and trials, their careers, and the legacy they, and boxing, left on each other.
